An iconic symbol focuses a message which usually needs a lot of "blah blah" - this simply is the function of smileys. Everybody knows immediately what a means.

Rothenburg ob der Tauber is a town with an iconic old quarter. So it seems obvious to transfer the iconic values of this beautiful town into the world of smileys and emojis. Six local artists of Rothenburg devoted themselves to this task - a free association of artists with different techniques (graphics, paper, photography, wood, object artists, painting) align the medieval town with the modern world of digital imagery. The exhibition displays their works and ideas - and you may have some iconic image in your mind as well. So feel free to be creative with your own Rothenbrug emoji.
