The Academic Orchestra of the University of Würzburg under the baton of Markus Popp will perform Bruckner´s late Romantic work, the Symphony #7, composed in 1884. Dedicated to the Bavarin King Ludwig II, the benefactor of Richard Wagner whom Bruckner himself revered, the fulsome sound of massed brass recalls Wagner´s works and celebrates the rediscovery of Rothenburg during that second halft of the 19th Century with all of its Biedermeier and late Romantic aspects. This performance also salutes Bruckner on the 200th anniverary of his birth. Admission free of charge, however a donation is requested to benefit the Academic Orchestra
